The BOOK IT! program is promoting reading to children from 6-12 years, and is designed to encourage children to share their bedtime stories.

Reading provides unlimited fun and imagination. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to spend some quality time together. Parents can read bed time stories to their children, or children could share their reading skills with their parents. Both ways are wonderful exercises to improve on your child’s listening and reading skills.

You can read a book together and after the story reading, the fun starts. Now you can tell in your own words your favorite bedtime story that you have read. It can start with “Once upon a time…”, or any way you want it. Tell us about your favorite character, hero or animal and the adventures that happen in the story.

To help you put the story together we have created several tools. There are the story’s sequence, the story map, the character analysis frame, and the story sequence pyramid. Together with your parents you can pick one to practice, and pick more if you like the exercise of story telling.
